DIY Hobbes from the Calvin and Hobbes Comic Strip. The creator of Calvin and Hobbes, Bill Watterson, never licensed any of his characters for anything - so there are no mugs, no stuffed characters etc… This tutorial from Instructables here makes it really clear that there is lots of hand stitching, but Hobbes is made out of easy and inexpensive fleece.

How gorgeous is this little guy? He reminds me of the original Tigger, from the adventures of Winnie the Pooh:
